    limited connectivity for wireless internet
    « on: March 23, 2010, 06:04:02 AM »
    Hi everyone,

I've recently done some updating via windows update on 20th March 2010. However after the update, I only get limited access to the internet, I can't even connect to my router.I can access to internet again if I switch off my router, but if I reset my computer, I get limited connectivity again.

Computer: Dell Studio xps Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
Wireless card: Dell Wireless 1515 Wireless-N Adapter

    Updates that were installed:
    KB971468
    KB979771
    KB976662
    KB975561
    KB979396
    KB905866
    KB978474
    KB977165
    KB978262
    KB890830
    KB979099
    KB974145
    KB976881
    KB973917
    KB975560
    KB978251
    KB975929

I've tried uninstalling all these updates but nothing seems to help. I've also tried reinstalling the wireless driver but it only made matters worse. Now when I restart, the windows logo is missing with only the green bar moving left and right.

Now there are all those WAN Miniport in the Device Manager which weren't there before but I can't seem to remove them.

What can I do? I've got 2 Windows XP computer and they connect to the wireless internet fine.

    Please help me.

    Thanks

    Mulreay

Have you tried using Windows Vista system restore? if not type in system restore into the search bar and restore the systemm to a restore point BEFORE you had installed the afore mentioned updates

Firstly, i have installed SP2 but he same problem exists.

I have reinstalled the system restore points before the installation. But the problem exists. However I was quite sure that it only started having trouble after i installed the updates.

What else can I do apart from reinstalling the computer?

      thanks
