     Hello all, i have a problem and need help: i have a billing software installed in PC running under Window server 2003 R2, have 3  other work station which connect to the server,  name "gigabyte " with IPA adress 192.168.1.109 ...The router " linksys" went down so replace by new router "Buffalo" and new server ip 192.168.11.8 now other 3 station wont communicate to the server anymore.. when i try to ping "gigabyte" from work station, it show "gigabyte " ip 196.168.1.109 and communication lost. Can any1 help ??? Ty

    Power everything down.  Then power up router, next power up server, wait until boot is complete, then power up workstations.  That will reset everyone if they are all DHCP.  If IP's are fixed, you'll have to manually change them.

      First thank for help, i did that power down averything,every ip reset but other pc station still not communicate with server, somehow pc station still see "gigabyte " server ip 192.168.1.109 which is now 192.186.11.2
      Any idea how to manualy change "gigabyte" ip adress from work station ???
        *For more info : last time 1 of the station went down i have to call software tech support to configure
           the station and it cost me $$$$...**

      On the Workstation that won't "see" server:
      Local Area Connection---Properties---TCP/IP---Properties
      Change from "Use the following IP Address" to "Obtain IP Address Automatically"
      Restart Computer

        Do that too, still nothing, server not show up in network .. and ping stil show old ip ..

        Change the server the same way, reboot server and router.

          The offender must be the router.  Is it set up for DHCP?  There should be a way to reset the router to factory defaults.  Also make sure you have the network cables plugged into the proper ports.
