Sending e-mail SPAM (unintentionally of course)

My husband must have somehow got a bug in his e-mail program, and now, somehow, he is automatically sending junk messages to people in his address book.  I've tried to go in and delete any unknown e-mail addresses from his account, but that didn't solve the problem.  Any suggestions are welcome!

The e-mail is a hotmail account, accessible from any computer w/Internet access.  Does this have to be cleared from a specific computer--I'm assuming probably the home computer he usually tries to use, although he has had trouble lately getting Internet access....
