Using ZoneAlarm Free to block MAC adress
« on: July 11, 2005, 04:37:28 PM »
Is it possible to use ZoneAlarm to block a certain MAC adress on a network of computers that are connected through the same router? Blocking the IP adress is of no use as the IP pool is 254 adresses large.

I would like to do this so that I stop receiving reports of the other computers sending NetBIOS packets.

I allready added 192.168.1.1 to my safe list, which finally solved the problem of my router not detecting the computer I am using in the DHCP client list.

Whilst I am at the subject of ZoneAlarm Free, what exacly does

do and mean? Is it worth having enabled?

I have used both Sygate and Zone Alarm, and I must say that Sygate Personal has a lot more configuration options.
