Would a Second HDD slow down my PC?

I really have no clue but if I were to install a 250gb internal WD SATA into my laptop and use it to store several pictures of mine, would that slow down my pc? Someone told it might since I have windows 7 on my computer.

Almost all laptops have no provision for a 2nd internal hard drive.  If it did, it would not slow it down.
