Windows XP and HP Printer printing from web - help
    « on: April 21, 2010, 02:15:44 AM »
    Hi,
I suddenly cannot print pages from the web.  When I do print preview lots of pages of wording come up with unintelligable wording.

When I try and print from my documents,  all is fine.

What model of printer is it you are using and also which drivers? pcl5 pcl6?

Also you may want to try resetting your internet explorer settings to see if that cures it (has worked in about 20% of cases where I've seen this)

      Hi Rob,
Thanks for reply. The printer is an HP psc 1510 all in one.
What is a pc15 or pc16.  and how do I re-set my internet explorer settings.
      Told you I was thick.

      J.

      Hi,
      Sorry for the delayed reply.

To reset Internet Explorers settings you do the following:-

      1) Open IE
      2) Click on the Tools Menu (generally far right, top)
      3) Click on 'Internet Options'
      4) On the new 'Internet Options' window that appears select the 'Advanced' tab
      5) Click the 'Reset' button
      6) After resetting you need to close and reopen Internet Explorer

Once you've done this do a 'print preview' before printing to see if that too has garbled output
