Blue Screen (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) attempting XP install
    « on: April 25, 2010, 08:04:12 PM »

My problems started the other day after I rebooted my PC.
I was getting a message about my Hard Drive issue.
Attempting to boot would lead to Windows not loading and the blue scree appearing.

In my attempt to fix the problem,  I decided to change HD's and start new.

Thinking my problems would go away, In my attempt to install a fresh copy of XP
on newly formatted drive (NTFS),  a blue screen is still appearing during my install attempts.
Technical informtion on this issue is as follows:

    STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0000034,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x8BF8BCD3)

I've run a memory test which seems to show no errors.
    Audio and Video are onboard.
I'm really clueless and stumped on how to proceed.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ooophs,  I grabbed the disk.   I guess my windows7 disk doesn't install on a blank  hd.
I've put my XP disk in and rebooted.  Seems, that the installation process is proceeding.

Follow these steps to fix a Blue Screen in Safe Mode
Once booting start, select "Safe Mode" from the boot menu.
Scan your hard drive by running your antivirus software.  If the program locates an infection, move it to your vault or follow the on-screen instructions. After program completation, if a virus was removed, attempt to reboot your computer and see if this clears up the problem. If not, restart your computer in safe mode.
Restore your computer to a previous point. Click on the "Start" button. Select "All Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools" and finally "System Restore". Choose a restore point on or before the last day your computer worked without error. Finally Reboot your computer to see if it loads correctly.
