    Laptop not charging

    my friends laptop charger stopped working, so we went today to buy a new universal charger. the laptop charges normally when its off, but when he turns on his laptop, it stops charging... his laptop is an acer.

    any ideas?

    Connect AC adapter (charger), remove battery.  If it won't turn on, the inverter board or motherboard are broken.
