Share calanders without Exchange

Does anyone know if there are any apps that allows you to share calenders. I don't want to use MS Exchange (Don't want to pay the licence) or Google calenders (don't always have access to the net.)

Any ideas?

Thanks, but do you know of any apps that will run independantly - something that we can throw on top of MS Outlook maybe?

As far as I know that can't happen. You have to connect to exchange to get the lastest calanders as they are saved on the server.

For Outlook, you really need to use it with an Exchange server to share calendars.  You might try Google Calendar. It has some sharing capabilities. And, it can be synced with Outlook.

We are going to have SharePoint installed as this is cheaper and everyone can have access to it, we are putting it on 1 of the virtual servers.
