    Hello There! :)

This phenomenon recur often during summer months! After, say 30-45 minutes of system start my CPU starts making ambulance like siren, a continous pattern that aborts only after turning OFF the machine(Thankfully not forced manual shutdown!). :-\

Which component is most likely to develop trouble? ???

& any practical solution to offer?

Check to see if all fans are working properly.

      Hi Patio! ;)

How to ascertain the 'Proper' functioning? Rear side(Cabinet) fan of CPU is working, I don know whether with proper speed or not!

The one which is installed over processor(inside), I have to check for the same!...but most likely it should be working.

Does overheating causes this Siren? ::)

Sounds like CPU overtemperature alarm. Usually there is a setting in the BIOS to set the trigger temperature. Check your processor maximum temperature figure (in manufacturer's specification) and refer to your motherboard manual to see how to check the alarm setting. Check that processor fan is rotating at proper speed. Check that computer air intake and exhaust not blocked.

I agree, it might be time to blow out all the dust and replace the thermal paste on the CPU.

Gotta love this. the CPU overheat alarm goes off, Patio asks if all the fans are working properly, and the response is "they should be"

Well of course they <should> be, but we're trying to determine why the CPU temperature alarm is going off and it stands to reason that the heatsink fan, which is the main thing cooling the CPU and <preventing> that alarm from going off in the ideal case, would be the first thing to check. Essentially dismissing the validity of the question with "well it should be working" is sort of presumptious.

        Hey Salmon! ;)

How can anyone check whether the FAN Speed is proper or else? I need to measure it with some instrument..Isn't it?

Isn't this a 'GEEK' thing to do? 8)

The Alarm pattern is very much sporadic!

It didn't happen again since the posting of this issue.

Another thing, can my UPS also make such an alert? But, the UPS was very much on the Mains at that time.Surely!

          Can it still happen? ::)

My UPS just beeps when it loses power.  A quick way to check if it your UPS is doing this is just to unplug it.

Meanwhile we still don't know if all fans are working and whether he's gonna fry this beast ...or not.
