Author Topic: PC slow for games like Call of Duty.. Do I got a bad video card? Or what?  (Read 3890 times)

Hi my name is Justin. I just got this computer recently thinking it would be good for games. But its not... Here is my specs below. Can anyone possibly give me a answer or clue to what might be wrong?

The processor is older and pretty slow ... your video card is very low end ... the motherboard is old ... your RAM isn't a great amount but that shouldn't have a great affect on gaming ... your HDD is also pretty old, and slow, which again wouldn't affect game performance but would affect load times, as well as the responsiveness of the machine.  Where did you get this from?  I hope you didn't pay much for it.  I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it may not be worth putting money into that system ...

    I had a 5500FX that works fine for playing most games. That doesn't change the fact that it is otherwise obsolete.

    If I understand the numbering scheme properly, the hundreds digit is "more significant" generationally then the thousands place. a 8800GT is better then a 9400GT, if I understand it correctly.

    Either way. the 9400 is a low end card.
    I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
