Can other computers connect to the internet using the same router?

I suspect there is a problem with DHCP / DNS on the router.

What do you get if you do the following:

Start -> Run -> Type "CMD" (no quotes) -> Press the Enter key -> Type "ipconfig" (no quotes) -> Press Enter

The router work fine when I use cable but I will see if it's wrong with the transmitter from the antenna.

if I do the ipconfig before I reinstall it I got that it didn't find the Ethernet-card, now I'm getting the same but it know the card is there and getting the 54/MBS but can't use it and then I get this at the bottom

    Code: [Select]
    autoconfig DNS-suffix.:
    autoconfig IP-adress..: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    networm...............: XXX.XXX.X.X
    standard-gateway......:

And it's trying to connect all the time but I just getting that yellow ! and say it's ether finite or no connection possible

The whole point of asking you was to see what the IP addresses were, to see if they were DCHP or APIPA.

Is that the output from IPCONFIG?  What operating system is it?

      What does "networm" mean?

Are you able to direct connect to the modem without any problem?

What do you mean you just "reinstalled the computer"? Do you mean you reinstalled the OS? If so, you need to install the chipset driver.

And of course I assume you've tried resetting everything (disconnect power from modem and router for 30 seconds, shut down all systems, then restore power to modem first, then router, then boot systems). Sorry for the basic question - just trying to rule out the simple stuff.

And have you tried a "clean boot" to the OS to see if it works that way?

That's an APIPA Address, there is a problem with DHCP.  Your computer isn't getting a valid address from the router.

Can you please post the make and model numbers of your router and we can come up with some instructions.
