no screen on boot. Please help
    « on: June 05, 2010, 11:21:22 AM »
My screen wont come on after computer boots up. I hear 1long then 1short beep followed by 2 short beeps as it is booting up. I tried completely cleaning the inside and removing all dust. I removed and reset all cards and RAM sticks.

I'm figuring its either a bad video card or RAM. What does the beeps mean, and how do you test a video card without having to buy another one to see if computer then works?

Most likely a video (graphics adapter) problem.  No way to test it, if it's dead.

thanks for quick reply. The card has a fan thats is working. Does that mean anything related to whether the card  is working or not?

Go to the website of your bios provider and check the beep codes.

If this is standalone video card, try to switch to on-board video and see, if it works.
