IE8 unchecked, but still functions

Hello all,
Running W7 Home Premium on emachines, updated.
 
This is a rather obscure question but it's driving me nuts.

I have discovered through using CCleaner Windows cleanup, that even though I use Firefox, and have unchecked Internet Explorer via "Turn Windows Features on or off", I still get Internet Explorer temp files and cookies.  This happens when I go to Photobucket, and perhaps other sites. 

Any ideas why IE8 is still seems to be functioning?

its possable that some of your cookies and temp files are saved their even though you use firefox

I clear all cookies and temp files with CCleaner every day.

OK, IE now really seems to be gone. 

FYI, I re-installed and removed IE8 again going through the removal steps (third time) and now IE does not leave cookies when I go to Photobucket via Firefox or Windows update via Windows update. 

I guess it's just one of those "miseries" of life.
