DSLAM not leasing IP Address for my Belkin router!
« on: June 11, 2010, 11:48:10 AM »
I have a problem with my internet connection. I am with o2 Broadband and i connect using Dynamic Bridge. The settings that i entered into my belkin router were :-

Multiplexing method: LLC-Based

VCI (Virtual Circuit Identifier): 101

VPI (Virtual Path Finder): 0

Username: leave blank

Password: leave blank

DNS servers: choose to get these dynamically from the Internet provider

NAT: enable

I then connected my belkin F5D7634 Version 2 Firmware 2.00.02 to the dsl line and entered them settings above. I understand that i need to let my "MAC Lease" expire. I left my router on with the dsl line connect for over 24 hours and the router still will not connect to the internet. I can still connect with the router that was supplied to me by my ISP.

Also i have tried this on other telephone sockets in my house but i got the same result. Every time i try and contact my ISP they refuse to help me on 3rd party routers.

My question is
-: Is there a problem with my belkin router?
-: Is there a problem with my ISP's remote hardware? (o2 UK)
