Sorry to sound like an ametuer...but I am!

Is the notebook hard drive to desktop hard drive converter to try to use to save data on my dead hard drive or to backup on a regular basis?

      Thanks,
      John

I would try it to see if you can in fact get anything off that drive...
It connects your laptop drive to any working Desktop machine...
You will know if the data is accessible by looking at the laptop drive in Windows Explorer on the Desktop machine...
