"advanced system optimizer"
rule of thumb: almost any program with the word "optimize" mechanic" or "fix-it" in the name is sure to be a completely and utter waste of both time and resources, both your own and your computers. I find it rather sad that people will, for example, buy something like system mechanic and then believe the "ratings" for before and after that they give you. That's pretty much what System Mechanic 6 did during my test that I did a while ago (I was compiling the results, but I discovered that my "clean" install for the test wasn't actually clean and had some installed programs). Either way, after installing it my process list balooned by 5, CPU usage was in near-constant use by "SMSystemAnalyzer" (because god forbid it let you actually do something without the "optimizer" or "analyzer" running. It probably doesn't even do anything but fire off the schedule for the defragmentation and other tools that have perfectly fine equivalents in the OS itself.
But it's OK, see, because SM6 <SAID> my computer was running 3 times faster. It's no different with any other program with a similar "theme" (OMG use this program to makes your computer fastor) They all seem to provide their own "before and after" rating, or they will say that your computer is in "poor" optimization status because they found a cookie on an external drive or something equally redundant.
