    windows xp boot problem

    Plz help me , i installed tune up utilities ,i changed my logon screen through tune up and then rebooted my pc now when i start xp a blank screen appears plz guide me ,what to do now.

    Try tapping F8 as the system boots and choose "last known good configuration" - let's see if that works.

      thanks for reply but i had already tried that, actually i pressed f8 repeatedly and got about 6-7 options
      1safe mode
      2safe mode with networking
      3last known good configuration
      4start windows normally
      i selected safe mode but still the same big black screen

        well it may seem funny but i have no xp disk nor a motherboard cd

        Well, you'll need to borrow one. It has to be the same version (Home / Pro - & service pack) that you currently have installed).

          Doesn't matter - you're not doing a new install - just a repair install. It's perfectly legal and it will work just fine. Be sure to follow the instructions in the link above. I'm about to leave for the day, but if you have more questions I'm sure someone else will jump in.
