Laptop -> Sony TV = Weird Image
« on: July 05, 2010, 03:11:53 AM »
Well, I have a problem with the image on my TV when I use the HDMI output on the laptop

The image is detected and it says "-> 1920x1080 -> 60Hz"

But then the image is just centered, and it got a black border around itself

I'm unsure, but I think the laptop sends out a 1600x900 image and the TV doesn't know if it should scale up the image

But, wait a second: I have the display settings set so the primary monitor is 1600x900 and the TV (secondary) is set to 1920x1080

I don't get it, why doesn't the settings apply ?

Information:
Sony 40-inch FullHD 1080p TV
HP Pavilion DV7 Notebook, ATI HD4650 Mobile, Win7 Home
The cake is a lie...
