P6X58D-E Motherboard damaged by CPU installation??

Do they have any evidence of this?  Ask for a picture, they should be happy to provide one.

Good suggestion. I am expecting the motherboard back from Newegg in a few days. I think I'll wait to see whats what with the returned board before I call them and ask for any pictures. Depending on what I find, I may call ASUS as well. I am not optimistic. For sure, I will post any interesting findings and pictures.
