    I cannot open photos I am downloading due to a message which states create an association in the set associations control panel,,,which I set to Windows Photo Gallery and still get the message and cannot open the image,,,,I am not generally stupid but I am now,,,please help

    Is your OS Windows 7?  If so, you might try a different procedure for changing the default program.  Click Start | Default Programs, and proceed with that approach.  Did it work?
