    I've cleaned out laptops several times.  Pitfalls so far - none, but make sure you download the service manual if you do not already have one.  It's handy to have the instructions displayed on-screen when actually removing/replacing the keyboard etc.  Electro-static protection is a must and always remove the battery before working on any laptop.
