I suggest minor revisions of your post so that it makes more sense.  Change 1: remove the period the first two sentences below and replace it with a comma.  Change 2: Put why at the end of the last sentence where it belongs.  How about this:?

When I run speed tests or try to get help for different problems, I keep getting told I have verizon.  Does anyone know why?

What site(s) are you using for speed testing?  Are the results of your speed tests in line with what you believe should be the speed of your Internet connection?

Is Verizon your telephone service provider?

Netzero is not a facilities based company like most phone or cable companies.  More than likely, Netzero is leasing and reselling DSL service from Verizon, and that's why the speed tests are showing Verizon.

Netzero might be your home page, and the company that sends you the bill, but your getting service over Verizon lines.
