COMPUTER WONT BOOT

i have a dell optiplex gx240 i was running xp had 2 hard drives installed a wd400 & a wd800 also i had 512mb of memory installed when the computer froze. when i restarted it the message (diskette drive 0 seek failure) appeared .i've try'd different drives ,different memory,different motherboard ribbons and keep getting same message. any idea what i did or didnt do whould be appreaciated.. ??? ???

This is a common problem when a floppy drive malfunctions but as you say you've tried other drives.   Lots of similar posts noted on the WWW, here's just one.

Go into the bios and put the hd at the top of the boot order. Let us know if that helps.

You can also try disabling "floppy seek on boot" in the BIOS as well

    i get the same type of problem. It says "seek failure, press f1 to skip, f2 to run the bios setup" i just skip and it works completely fine
