CPU and GPU heat up in a matter of seconds and they either overheat, or not.
Temperatures will raise, if some heavy programs are used, not from waiting.
Computer is not like a bonefire, which needs 15 minutes to heat up.

In either case, temperatures won't raise from 54 to 100, even if you wait until tomorrow.

Yeah of course I agree blah blah.. and when I run programmes the intensity of there use never changes. I'm not arguing so I hand the rains over to you.

    I've been running 5 programs for 20 mins now & the highest reading is 54 c.

        It looks like you need to reinstall video driver.
        In safe mode Windows loads own, generic driver and it works fine. Means, your video chip should be fine.
        In normal mode, the real video driver loads and apparently, it doesn't work well.
        Download fresh driver, uninstall current one and install new one.

            I uninstalled the video driver & reinstalled the new one. And everything seems pretty good. Haven't encountered the fuzz yet. =D
