Resetting Netgear WG103 bridge to default
« on: August 07, 2010, 01:30:06 PM »
Have an Ethernet link to WG103 from BT Homehub 2 to the bridge downstairs in Garage for a wireless connection to a HP2120sa Laptop in Lounge directly above. Was trying to get the Security to WPA and needed to get back to the default settings to install the WPA. After manually resetting the default IP was supposed to be 192.168.0.229, but even after trying again the IP is.... 192.168.1.253 so unable to get back to the original set up page. Any ideas out there, intelligent son on holiday right now and old git needs help. Generally able to sort problems myself but lacking on this one

Do we assume that it is a wireless brig bridge?

Matter of fact, I don 't know how to reset it either!
Ir will change its entry point to suit the DHCP.

You need to hook it directly to one computer, no router. Reset both the AP and the PC. Then it should beat the default address. In other words, remove it fully from the network when you need to change the settings.
OR
Read  the manual and do it the way it  says.
OR
Get a network tool that will go find it.
