1st Post/Strange Situation/Need Help

Hello,
I have an odd situation I hope y'all can help me with...My wife's e-mail address (hotmail) keeps sending out e-mails to everyone on her address book, which include links to a different Web address each time. Sounds like your standard run of the mill virus, right? Ok, here's the odd part (at least to me):

We have three computers: My desktop pc, her netbook and laptop.

My desktop is our primary computer. It only has my e-mail address (also hotmail) linked to it.
2007 Dell Computer
Vista Operating system
Intel Core CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz
4.00 GB RAM
32-bit Operating System
(Hope enough info to help)

Her netbook hasn't been used in months doesn't even have a charge, or I'd give it's info too...Laptop hasn't been used in even longer.

We tether our Palm Pre phones to the computer for internet service. Service through Verizon. (Her phone was never tethered to either netbook or laptop)

I have scanned my computer with McAfee, Microsoft Essentials and ESET Online Scanner...None found anything. I've also cleaned it up with Malwarebytes.

So what am I missing...I'm figuring that there's a virus hiding out there somewhere, but where? My wife's e-mail address is in no way linked to my computer...She's checked in on my computer before, but other than that nothing...I figured if my computer had a virus it would be my e-mail address used to send out those stupid e-mails...Any thoughts?

If you need more information to help you help me, please let me know.

One more thing...My McAfee just expired, but it was my only protection until recently...I've never officially disabled it, so I'm not sure if it would be interfering with the scans of the others.

  • From this point on, please do not make any more changes to your computer; such as install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc. - unless advised by the staff I noted above.
  • Please do not attach logs or post them in Quote/Code boxes unless requested.
  • Please do not ask for help elsewhere (in this site or other sites). Doing so can result in system changes, which may not show up in the logs you post.
  • If you have already asked for help somewhere, please post the link to the topic you were helped.
  • We try our best to reply quickly, but for any reason we do not reply in two days, reply to this topic with the word BUMP
