New laptop, can I use old printer
    « on: August 16, 2010, 11:13:54 AM »
I have a new Dell Latitude with Windows 7.  The software installation disc that came with my Epson Stylus RX620 does not list Windows 7 only xp, 2000, 98 etc.  So after searching throughout the internet, I am stumped as to my next step.  Do I have to buy a new printer?  Or is there an installation disc available for my Windows 7.  Epson's site is way beyond my capacity to know what they are talking about on their drivers etc page.

Have you tried just plugging the printer in (computer off) then when the computer is on, switch on the printer. It may auto-update the drivers required.
    As in plug and play.
Let me know how you get on.

    P.s welcome to computer hope

So basically do what I said then?  ::)

The irony here being of course that what Mulreay said was absolutely nothing even close.

Thanks to everyone.  I simply plugged my printer into my laptop and the laptop took over and automatically installed drivers and software.  it took less than a minute.

      Yep, that was right.

he's not going to respond. he deleted his account.

I also see they removed the posts where he declared michaewlewis to be a moron and an idiot among other things how he wasn't intelligent enough to post, among other insults (if I remember correctly), as well as my post that pretty much tried to set him straight. Then he deleted his account. But I get the feeling he will be back.
