Help with adding/replacing a gaphics card.
« on: September 13, 2010, 08:57:14 AM »
Dell Inspiron 545 Minitower
Windows Vista
4096MB Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz [4x1024] Memory
512MB ATI® Radeon™ HD 4350 graphics card
640GB (7200rpm) SATA Hard Drive
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 (2.93GHz,1066MHz,3MB)
300W PSU

I would like to have dual monitors, which my current graphics card cant do. So i believe i need a better or second graphics card to achieve this.

I would like to add a second 512MB ATI® Radeon™ HD 4350 graphics card that requires a 300W PSU. (Which i have)

So do i need to upgrade my PSU to 600W to be able to run both graphics cards?

When it says it requires a 300W PSU it does not mean that it draws 300 Watts.
Two things, have you got another PCI-e slot for the second card, and If you can add a second card I would upgrade your PSU to 400Watts, Corsair do some very reliable cheap PSU's
This chart below will show you the actual power drawn by various garphic cards.
