    hello i get error 1603 in the PAINT.(NET) installation, along with "FATAL ERROR" any ideas >?

    From where did you download it?  I suggest you download again and try installing it from the new download.  You can get it from the developer at http://www.getpaint.net/download.html

        its the installation im having difficulty with though i tried again

        it seems to be having difficulty removing the previous version i have but that one is disabled you think theres anyway i can manually remove it myself?  thanks

        How did you try to remove it?  Did you try the proper way, through Control Panel, Add/Remove ...?  What happens when you try?

          i tried that way and theres no trace of it on my pc anymore but the install shield still says "removing previous version"

            its now clear its removing the previous version is the issue, so when i go to control panel and uninstall programm and when i uninstall paint.net i get the following:

            there was a problem with this windows installer package.
            a program required for this install to complete could not be run.

            and when i opt for "repair":

            the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

            click ok to try again, or enter an alternative path to a folder containing the installation package paint dot net_835170366.msi
