Hi falcon, if you can provide the full error message / dump and your computer specs, they can help us help you in troubleshooting.
The bug check code 0x0000007F is UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP.
This indicates that a trap was generated by the Intel CPU and the kernel failed to catch this trap.
Either a bound trap (a trap the kernel is not permitted to catch)
or a double fault (a fault that occurred while processing an earlier fault, which always results in a system crash).
Bug check 0x7F usually occurs after the installation of faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or in the event that installed hardware fails.
A double fault can occur when the kernel stack overflows. This can happen if multiple drivers are attached to the same stack.
Is that a new second hard drive your attempting to install?
If hardware was recently added to the system, remove it to see if the error recurs.
Confirm that all hard disks, hard disk controllers, and SCSI adapters are listed on the Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility List and supported by your motherboard (or if newer hardware check the BIOS Flash Updates hardware compatible list - sometimes they release a newer hardware list and you just have to update first before it will support it).
If all else is failuring still - press F8 on boot and select from the Windows Advanced Options menu, the 'Last Known Good Configuration' option to remove out possible bad incompatible driver(s) to the system state it was happy at before.
A crack, a scratched trace, or a defective component on the motherboard can also cause this error. In which case it would need repairs. Hopefully it's not this and just new hardware you have lately installed?
