Edit fluxbox login for all users
« on: October 05, 2010, 07:52:30 PM »
Hello, everyone.

I'm using fluxbox and I'd like to setup a computer or two where any user can sit down, login, and have the same startup process. I really do not want to have to open all the ~/.fluxbox/startup files and sync them all to automatically open a power applet and the wireless applet--I want it to open as simple as Windows.

How can I apply fluxbox startup settings for all users? Where's the startup file all the users read off of?

OK. For any others who are interested, here's what you need to do:

- Delete any graphical login managers (though this won't look as pretty). :D
- Open /etc/bash.bashrc as root and edit it, adding the script you want (in this case, to turn on applets for all users) and save it.
- Logout and back in. Your changes should be applied as soon as you log in using the command line.
