Ubuntu totally took over!
« on: October 14, 2010, 02:40:52 PM »
I tried to follow an online guide to dual-boot Ubuntu with Windows 7, but I must have messed up somewhere.

Now, my computer will /only/ boot Ubuntu.  Can someone help me get Windows back?  Thanks a lot!

do you have a windows 7 installation CD somewhere? (Or if this is a HP or compaq computer, you might have a reinstallation system already on your computer set up by HP)

So, you see no screen during startup where you can choose which OS to boot, right?

You need to find the custom file and add Windows 7 to it if grub didn't pick it up (unlikely) or run update-grub /dev/sda as root (assuming it is sda, and not hda--run parted -l to see your list of drives).
