    More homework ? ?

I'll throw you a bone...in a nutshell the master drive normally contains the OS and all applications and the slave drive is used for additional storage...

Let me know how i scored ont the Test BTW...

The difference is I have never heard of the former. "Dual master/slave"? What does that mean? with a Master/Slave set you already have a Duo of drives, so is a Dual Master/Slave setup two masters+two slaves?

Master and slave are only for IDE controllers.  The device plugged into the top of the gray ribbon is master, and the device plugged into the middle plug-in is slave.  Performance-wise it does not matter, but just make sure that if you plug a device into the middle plug-in of the gray cable, the jumpter is set to slave.

Or you could just set all of your jumpers to cable-select and it won't matter  ;D

Believe it or not, we have forum rules and they actually do make it clear that we do not normally help with homework.  We do sometimes leave it up to discretion and will lend a helping hand, but we absolutely do not simply do the homework for you.  This is a computer help forum, NOT a homework help forum.  If your sister isn't willing to learn about computers, perhaps she shouldn't be in a computer class.  This is very basic information that is most likely in her textbook.  If not, simply typing the question into Google will give you the exact answer you are looking for.  Of course, lazy students who do this often get caught.

You received a fair amount of help, but it is now time for you guys to figure a few things out on your own.  Read the book; it contains valuable information.  You might even learn something.
