XP & SATA Drivers

I'm not sure if hardware is the right section for this question, but since it's about hardware drivers I posted it here.

Heres the thing. I slipstreamed XP with SP3 and slipped the SATA drivers for my WD harddrive to make up a new boot CD. Works good.
Next I used the slipstreamed copy to make up a Bart's PE Boot disk. Also works good.

Now, I'm wondering... Will the SATA drivers work for most or all SATA drives? If not, Is there a universal package of drivers that could be added to make the PE disk a universal boot disk?

Actually they are usually tied to the MBoard...not the HDD's.

Usually?  Always!!  Because the controller is on the motherboard.

That's a 3rd party driver scanner (Driver Whiz), you don't want to use that.  They usually don't work and sometimes are just spyware.

please check your facts before making erroneous statements...its is a universal harddrive driver...do you have a problem with giving help here?

I have used the uniata driver myself...the only problem is that their website is having problems.

there is no "Driver Whiz" anywhere on the linked page, anyway. Just looks like a post about a SATA controller driver. Although I wasn't able to follow the link in the post on the page linked in the post here (that's somewhat of a tongue twister...) so I don't know what is on it.

On that Tom's Hardware page is is/was a Google ad. From Driver Whiz. Avoid it.

Ok is WAS a bonafida driver and site...I will inform my source that his link is out of date.
If you google you will find they were quite commonly referred to so it must have been a recent loss and don't be put off by the location...I have a very handy usb driver for NT4 from a similar part of the world not to mention a useful epson printer resetter which saved me plenty of money in the past. Inventiveness is found all over the globe and the joy of the internet is having access to it. The universal Sata driver was a very promising project...its a shame that it appears to have been dropped as I'm sure it would save a lot of head scratching for XP users.
