    Creating System Recovery Media
    « on: October 29, 2010, 05:15:43 AM »
I wish to create System Recovery Media for my new Dell laptop. Dell recommend using one 8GB DVD-R. Can I use two 4.7GB DVD-r's for the purpose. Thanks.

It completely depends on the size of the back-up data. But you should be able to use multiple disks just make sure you label them 1, 2, 3 etc.

I don't think the Dell recovery system supports spanning....but i could be wrong.
Worst case scenario you'll lose 2 blank DVD's ...so go ahead and try it.

To create your Recovery Discs, you will need one or more blank DVDs and your computer must have a DVD burner installed.
It doesn't say anything about 8GB DL DVD and it looks like it supports spanning.
