Windows 7 will show thumbnails of open browser tabs when using Internet Explorer but not Firefox.  I do not know of a way to do that with Firefox.

Do you use the button on the far right of the tabs bar in Firefox?  If you left-click it, it displays a list of all tabs/websites open. It's an easy way to select a different tab.

If you want previews of Firefox tabs like Internet Explorer...
  • In the address bar of Firefox, type "about:config" and press enter.
  • In the "Filter" text field, type "browser.taskbar.previews.enable".
  • Double-click "browser.taskbar.previews.enable" in the list below to set it to true.
You will now have IE style previews.

You might also be interested in the Firefox extension FoxTab.

Good info, Kip.  But, what's the advantage of that over using the button I mentioned in my previous post?

I personally do not see an advantage to it.
The only reason I can think of for using it is that you get to see a preview of each tab.
I tried it out and immediately disabled it again because I routinely have many tabs open and having so many previews was awkward.

I was thinking that I would perceive it that way, too, since I also routinely have many tabs open.
