serial port? D sub? Help!!

hi all, i have a device that needs to hook up to my pc through a serial port, on my laptop i have a D sub? where i can hook up an external monitor, can i hook the serial cable to this port?

External monitor d-sub is 15-pin, serial port d-sub is 9-pin.  So answer is:  No.
