    What if I delete the 4 files that couldn't be copied when I tried to repair it, assuming there is a way to delete those files, and attempt to repair again.

    Just trying to see if there is anything at all that could work. Don't really want to have to buy a new hdd.

    Okay. You've already verified that your hd is bad. Not much else we can do for you.

      One last question, is this generally covered under the manufacturers warranty?

      If the system is still under warranty then probably yes.
