    problem with hdd/motherboard

    Hi
    my pc cannot finish loading windowxp sp2 into a new hdd,the disk is formatted, and i even tried another
    hdd the problem is the same.but the hdd is seen on bios,sometimes it hangs in the midle of the process.
    its a p4 intel,40gb hd,cpu 1.7,ram 1gb I have tried different xp cds but the problem is the same.
    Please help  ??? :(

    Is the xp disc dirty or scratched ?

    Me bad.

    Ok you tried another hard drive too.

    Maybe the memory.  Memtest 86 i let that run for a few passes to check for ram or memory controller errors.
