iPhone won't sync/show up on my computer.

Hi.

I'm trying to connect my iPhone 3G with my iTunes and it won't even show up on my computer. This is strange because, for the past two years it has synced with ease. The phone won't even charge when it is plugged in, it is almost as if it hadn't been connected to the computer at all.

Some background info...
About one month ago my computer shut down and wouldn't start, so I brought it to a computer place where they fixed it. Right after I got my computer back my phone wouldn't sync to my computer. At first, I thought it was the version of iTunes I had (10.1), but that was the current version.

Can anybody help me figure this out? I'm a college student so I don't have the money to keep bringing my computer back to the technicians.

I have a Microsoft Windows Studio Laptop with Windows Vista and Intel Core 2 Duo

I'm not really sure what else to list, I'm not computer savvy at all. :/

Have you tried another iPod cable?

What about testing to see if another computer picks it up?

as the guy above says - try another cable.

also maybe try another device on your machine.
