Mount image drive\partition?
« on: August 09, 2005, 09:39:30 AM »
Hi, I need to mount a "image drive" or a "partition"..
I'm not sure what the correct terminology is but in System Mechanic 4 Pro, I used to make like little extra hard drives from my existing drive..

I need to do this because my old dos game will not install on a hard drive that is more then 4 Gigs.

Thanks in advance for anyone with information..

For old DOS games use DOSBox:  http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1

That's not the problem though.. I need to get it installed and so I need to make an image drive smaller then 4 Gigs so I can install it.. The game is called HardWar and it has no problems running on XP.

Use Paragon Partition Manager. I've used it before, and it seems to work well... Download it here... http://www.download.com/Partition-Manager/3000-2248_4-10334523.html?tag=lst-0-1

That trial version won't let me carry out the dang commands... It tells me to register to be able to.. argh

Anyone else know of any other programs that would let me?

If you do not mind reformating and reinstalling, you can use the Windows XP CD-ROM to partition.
