restoration problem in xp

i canot restore the system as the restore check box is turn off implicitly.how can i turn it on.is any other method to restore the system in xp operating system.
please tell me the solution as soon as possible

Have you tried unchecking the box on "Turn off system restore on all drives" under System Properties?
