Power supply starts, then immediately stops

I have to agree with the heat sink issue. I've experience this same problem before and with a tube of Heat sink coompound no. 276-1372 A from Radio shack, my system was back up an running. During the boot the first system check is memory:::It can also be a defective chipset or not a good seat. I think I would check teh grease first....toda

I have the same exact problem as you do but I think I wrecked my motherboard by pulling my heatsink out of the CPU to hard. I also tried replacing my heatsink with new thermal compound but that didn't work. So I think it is my motherboard. If you got it working again, please let me know, thanks.
