Acer Aspire if left unplugged from ac for more than a couple of hours has very erratic boot up. ( I know that the main battery is not any good , so only use laptop plugged into ac socket), so I think maybe cmos battery is also no good , where is battery and how do I get to it. THX

Do you still have the bad battery in the laptop, try removing it entirely and see if that helps.

are you talking about the main ( Portable ) battery ?, if so I will give it a try. Thx.
