    Intel driver question
    « on: February 03, 2011, 05:57:31 PM »
I want to update my drivers for graphics, I have GMA X4500 graphics card by the way, I want to update it but apparently the one I have is modified by gateway and it says that installing the intel one can mess up my computer, so I was asking if it will mess it up or if it is okay, Here is the exact message I got:

A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.
    So what should I do?

Why do you want to update your driver, the latest driver is not always the best one.
Unless there is a specific problem that you are having that is fixed in the new version then I would recommend leaving the old one alone.
    Evil is an exact science.
