Everest or physical identification ?
« on: August 14, 2005, 01:40:34 AM »
I recently switch from win98SE to XP, and suddenly my soundcard is not detected.

I opened CPU box, unplug the card, and there's 2 chipset (maybe) :

1) YMF 724G-V
    9948 GBFF

2) Avance Logic Inc
   ALC 100P
   0631501 0247F

I tried to download both driver, but doesn't work. Then I use Everest from Lavalys, under multimedia it read:

ForteMedia FM801 Audio Controller

Now I'm confused. Which driver should I use ? Also, when I try to search, there is driver with WDM, another with Legacy, yet other driver simply listed "PCI audio driver".

That happens, to YMF, Avance, and Fortemedia. Anyone can tell me what it means ? And what driver I should use ?

Thanks in advance

p.s : I've tried searching, I really do  ???

Thanks Fed. But which one ?

    YMF Legacy/PCI ?
    Avance Legacy/PCI ?
    Fortemedia Legacy/PCI ?

And what is "WDM", if anyone care to explain ?

I'm searching them right now. Thanks.
