WD Essentials Not Quite Working
« on: February 06, 2011, 09:18:39 PM »
I've had my WD Essentials SE 1TB Portable Hard drive for about 4 months and it's been working fine.  Yesterday, however, it would not be recognized by my computer or any other computer I plugged it into.  Now, it may or may not connect and I have found online that reformatting it may solve the issue.  The problem is, when I go to format it when it actually is recognized, it stops at 0% and says "Windows could not complete the format".  In the Disk Management Admin tool, it shows up as RAW File System and it is unable to format it there either.  Later the Hard Drive was write-protected without me doing it.  Please help.
