    no signal on monitor but..
    « on: February 07, 2011, 06:43:18 AM »
I'm not to bad at sorting out PC problems but this one is relay bugging me naw. I get no signal displayed on my monitor but, it happens at random, sometimes i use my PC for a few hours, other times it take a few seconds and other times it wont even go past DOS.(it will always happen within 3 hours thow. It dint seem to matter if I'm playing games, DL stuff, watching film  etc.

The PC has worked fine for a year this seemed to happen at random, one day it just said no signal and it has been doing it ever since.

I'm thinking it is my motherboard as i have tryed a few things to fix it, i just wonderd if it could be software cos it only happens sometimes.

Things iv tryed for a fix :
changed the GFX card for one i know works.
changed the monitor for one i know works.
changed the PS for one i know works.
cleaned all the parts inside my PC and updated all drivers.
I also tryed it on the onboard GFX and it did same thing.

    I'm running on : windows XP sp3 32
                             2 gig ram
                             512 geforce 9900
                             Pentium 4 dulecore 2800
not sure what motherboard is in there.

pls help as this is my old PC and my girlfriend is (was) useing it, and all she wants to do naw is wast my new PCs power on facebook lol

The mobo is making its way to be a top contender based on your testing. You might wanna lower any resolution settings first and check your temperature while running the PC.
