Hi I have an old compaq presario sr1230nx, which has an AMD Athlon xp PCU.  question is Im trying to download an Auto Cad program.  But it says I need a Cpu that is SSE2 compliant. Is there anything I can do or buy to make this work?

Not on that computer.  AMD Athlon XP does not contain support for SSE2 instruction set.

You might check out this article.  It lists several free AutoCad clones that may work with older computers.
